What a way to kick off the Lower YDL season with the team finishing 3rd in Blackburn not far behind Sale Harriers!!

Outstanding effort from everyone involved. You should all be VERY proud of yourselves. For some it was their very 1st time competing in the YDL and they just absolutely smashed it. For others, they step up to try events for the very 1st time! Very impressive all round! 🎉🎉

The YDL is first and foremost a TEAM event and each and everyone of you have given their everything to score very precious points for the team!! ⭐️⭐️

Thank you to all our coaches who gave their time up on a Sunday to support our athletes. Your commitment never goes unnoticed. 🙏🏻🙏🏻 And also a huge THANK YOU to our officials who contributed to yet another successful event. A full team of officials for Wirral AC means a full set of points to add to our total score for the day! Your dedication is VERY MUCH appreciated.

Last but not least… It was a delight to see all our athletes showing up at their events on time, warming up with their teammates and what a team spirit!

An absolute cracker of a race for Keira coming 2nd behind Laura Muir at the famous Iffley Road track in Oxford where Roger Bannister himself broke the 4min barrier for 1 mile!

With her 4.43.57 performance, Keira is also a record breaker with now 2 new records under her belt for the Mile 👊🏻👊🏻👊🏻

Congratulations to all our London Marathon runners! Hope you all enjoyed the experience - and what a brilliant sunny day it was for it!

🎉Aaron, Kelvin, Jordan, Rob, Caroline, Siobhan, Daniel, Tom, James, Sheila, Mike, Robert, Claire, Louise, Graeme, Emma…🎉

For some of you, maybe it was about times and PBs or ticking off a goal from your bucket list. For the others, maybe it was about fundraising for a cause close to your heart or remembering a loved one. Whatever the reason, I’m sure I’m right in saying that you all stood on the start line after months of preparation excited to be part of one of the most iconic marathons, you all ran the same 26.2 miles at your very own pace and you all crossed the finish line with your heart full & your head filled with amazing memories, feeling an incredible sense of achievement and most definitely, with slightly tired legs!!! I’m sure most of you are still buzzing from the electrifying atmosphere & community spirit of what looks like the experience of a lifetime. Hopefully, you all had a chance to rest & recover a bit and nurse those sore muscles by now!
